4 Year Pictures

We took Kristen to get her 4 year pictures today. She has grown so much.

Appointments

I do not miss the days where my weeks were filled with appointments. Other than sick appointments, we haven't seen any doctor since August. This week I got a little taste of how it use to be. Monday started off with speech therapy. Things went good and Lauren is now starting to put two words together. She is making progress and starting to vocalize more. Tuesday was really our only free day and we enjoyed it.

On Wednesday Lauren went to see the ENT and GI doctor. We got really good news at the ENT appointment. Lauren's right vocal chord is still overcompensating, but he is seeing some quivering in her left paralyzed vocal chord. This means that there is some movement and later on she might qualify for shots in her vocal chord to help her quality of voice. We thank God for this good news. At her GI appointment Lauren was 19 pounds 7 ounces. We are almost at the 20 pound mark! We are going to try Lauren on a high fat diet until June and stop her night feedings because she just isn't tolerating them too well. I pray this diet works and that in June we can get the button taken out. She has no problem eating that's for sure. You should have seen her at breakfast shoveling in her food. She eats a lot better than her big sister.

On Thursday both girls had a checkup at the pediatricians office. They both got shots. I prayed that Kristen would not ask if she was getting shots because I knew she was. I wanted to be honest and tell her the truth and not lie. Thank God she never mentioned it. She did really good with everything. When the nurse came in with the little basket she then asked if she was getting a shot. I told her yes but that it would be really quick. All she said was that she didn't want to get a shot. Her leg is still red from one of her shots. They both did good and are growing like they should. I thank God for two healthy girls.

Rapunzel...Rapunzel...Throw Down Your Hair!

Saturday was Kristen's birthday party and she was so excited. She kept asking when everyone was going to get there and enjoyed spending most of day outside with her cousin. I was very exhausted because I had spent all day Friday making the cake and the week itself had just been hectic. This year was the first year that she blew out all of the candles all by herself. That is when you know your kids are getting older. She got so many nice presents from lots of people who love her very much. Here are some pictures.

The "Tangled" decorated kitchen.

Rapunzel, Rapunzel...throw down your hair. Kristen really liked the cake I made her even though I couldn't get Rapunzel to stay in the window. It still turned out pretty good.

Singing Happy Birthday.

Blowing out the candles all by herself.

Listening to her Tangled birthday card that plays music.

Opening her new pink princess kitchen.

Opening her Barbie pool. This was the best picture that was taken of her opeing her gifts. Her smile is just too cute.

This is a picture I snapped of the girls before church on Sunday. It thought it was cute.

Here are some pictures from yesterday of Kristen mini party we had. She was so happy it was her birthday. We are having her big birthday party on Saturday. She is so excited.

They really do love each other.

Cupcakes we made to take to church for her Awana Cubbie class.

She actually blew them out all by herself.

She has seen this on commercials and wanted it so bad. She can't wait to take a bath tonight.

This was another must have. She cried in Barnes and Noble when she did get it.

Kristen is 4 years old today!

Daughters are angels sent from above to fill our heart with unending love.

I can't believe how fast time flies. I remember when Kristen was first born someone told me to cherish the moments because they go by so fast. I thought to myself, cherish the sleepless nights and feedings every 4 hours. Back then I thought time didn't go by fast enough. It was a long 6 weeks before she started sleeping through the night, but now I wish I had cherished every moment because it did go by fast. Kristen has changed so much over the past year. She brings so much joy to my life and everyday I wake up I am excited to spend the day with her. She is very much a momma's girl and her momma loves her very much. She likes: being outside, bubbles in the bath, stuffed animals, music, doing crafts, playing with play doh, movies, going to the library, playing with barbies and her princess dolls, fixing food in her kitchen, vanilla wafers, cereal with marshmallows, riding with the windows rolled down, the color purple, night gowns and dresses, sleeping in a sleeping bag, headbands and helping me cook, clean, make the bed and do laundry. I wish I could stop time and keep her at this age because it is such a fun age. Everyday she keeps me laughing and smiling because of something funny she said. I thank God for entrusting her to my care and blessing me so much with a her as my daughter. Happy 4th birthday Kristen. I look forward to the years to come.

Hair Cuts

Today Kristen and Lauren got their hair cut. It was Lauren's first hair cut and Kristen's second. They both needed them really bad. I took them back to Diva's and Dudes. It is such an awesome place and I highly recommend it. If I cut hair, I would open a place like that for adults. I especially like the watching a movie part. I wouldn't mind watching a movie while I got my hair cut. Kristen was so excited and they both did so good. I was a little concerned about how Lauren would do. She has some spunk and is going through the VERY TERRIBLE TWO's. Just this weekend she got upset that I wouldn't let her wander throughout the Barnes and Noble so she hit the book display and knocked the books down. Talk about embarrassing! Anyways, I was so very proud of them. That's the power of prayer because I was praying hard that Lauren would behave. Here are some pictures.

Kristen before the haircut.

Kristen during the hair cut. She really enjoyed watching the Barbie Mermaid movie while getting her hair cut.

Kristen after the hair cut. She asked me if she looked so beautiful. I just love her to pieces!!!

Lauren before the hair cut.

She was really enjoying it.

She was doing so good. I was so proud of her.

This is the cutest picture. She LOVED getting her hair blow dried. I thought she would be scared because when I pick up my hair dryer, she waves bye and leaves the room as fast as she can.

After the hair cut. I thought this picture showed off her hair better. She looks so cute.

This evening Kristen and I baked cupcakes to take to her Awana Cubbies class on Wednesday. We will icing them and put our candy on top tomorrow. She is very excited. She is getting so big.

Mixing up the first batch.

I told her now that she is 4 she could use the big mixer. She was so excited.

Lauren just being Lauren.

Getting ready for candy making. Lauren loved this part because she got to eat. That girl LOVES to eat.

Happy Valentines Day!

We had a good Valentine's Day that was filled with lots of hearts. I made lots of heart goodies last night. This morning my dad came over and I made heart shaped pancakes and eggs.

For lunch we had a heart shaped pizza with lots of cheese.

Here are some other goodies we had throughout the day. I know...I am so corny, but it was something different for the kids and they seemed to like it.

Paul sent us a little surprise. It was yummy too an had a very sweet message. He is the best! I am so blessed with such a great family.

Unwanted bed buddy

Surprisingly, last night was the first night that Kristen and Lauren ended up in the same bed asleep. Before they went to sleep I put the sleeping bags out on the floor because Kristen said she wanted to sleep in her sleeping bag. I didn't know if Lauren would sleep in it or not, but went ahead and laid hers out. When I went in to check on them, Lauren had climbed in her bed and was fast asleep. Before I went to bed Kristen had climbed in bed with her. I snapped a quick picture and it was a good thing I did.

At two this morning I woke up to Lauren screaming crying. I just knew something horrible had to be wrong. It was just and unwanted bed buddy. Once I got Lauren calmed down, she kept looking at Kristen in her bed. When I went to put her back in her bed, she started screaming again. I asked her if she wanted to sleep with Kristen and she shook her head violently and said no then pointed to Kristen's bed. I laid her down in Kristen's bed she went right on back to sleep.

Movin on Up

No, we have not sold our house, but I do pray we sell it by the end of the year. We are going to re-list it this spring. The person who is movin on up is Lauren. She is now in a toddler bed!

We converted her crib and she looks so cute climbing up in her bed. The girls went to bed at 8:00, but didn't actually get to sleep until around 9:30. They stayed up and played. One time when I looked in on them they were both in Lauren's bed looking at books. Kristen wanted Lauren to sleep in her bed, but then they ended up in their own beds fast asleep. I don't know how nap time will go today, but Lauren just loves the freedom of getting in and out of her own bed. Here are some other random pictures taken this week.
