Prior to turning nine, there were many tears cried because she didn't want to turn nine. Apparently being eight is pretty awesome and getting older can be pretty depressing. I don't want her to grow up either.
But, she did, and we celebrated her turning nine today with family.
In our house it's either Trolls or Moana. So, of course she wanted a trolls birthday cake. She picked out a small round cake and some cupcakes to go with it. I had a ton of cute ideas pinned on Pinterest that never got executed. But we spent time with family and I wasn't stressed, so it was a very good birthday.
Lauren really doesn't ever say she wants anything. She'd be happy running around outside with only a ball to play with. She is so laid back, but one thing she wanted was a trolls piñata. Party City didn't have one when we went and her response was, "okay". But then I found one at Walmart and we were all so excited! Except Paul. Piñatas aren't his thing.
She got a lot of wonderful gifts. We are so thankful for the family God has blessed us with. Some who traveled from North Carolina just to spend the day celebrating Lauren.
She did ask for a hatchimal. I was excited for her to open this gift. I had researched it before I bought it, and was excited to watch is hatch.
The hatchimal, which reminds me of a furby with wings, remains nameless. Hopefully by tomorrow our little hatchimal will have a name.
She loved all her gifts and felt so loved.
She dislikes: anyone crying, getting older, tags in clothes, school, seeing pictures of herself when she was born, talking about when she was born, socks that don't fit just right, and Ninjago.
