Kristen's Party

For the past four years Kristen has been asking to have a birthday party with her friends. Ten was the magic number and she was so very excited to plan her party. She had a list a mile long. I wish I had taken a picture of that list. You would have thought her party was going to last for days. Her friend list was quite long too, so I set a limit. Six girls, because it needed to be an even number and because my budget couldn't afford more. Nor could my house hold more and my sanity couldn't take more. And then we started to plan.

The party started out being a sleepover, then turned into a nail and movie party. She finally wanted to do games and give out prizes. Everyone had to get a prize though and she had big ideas for these prizes. So, since the grand total of girls came to eight, counting Kristen and Lauren, we headed to 5 Below and were very surprised to find tons of Tsum Tsum things, which was her theme. Everyone could leave with a Tsum Tsum themed prize! Even I was excited about that!

Next we had to figure out how we were going to determine who got prizes. One girl might win a couple of games, so the only fair way was to do a point system. Remember that show, Minute to Win it? Well, we decided to do games like cookie face, junk in the trunk, who's your mummy, and cotton ball scoop. We came up with, or should I say, Pinterest came up with 8 games and we awarded points. In the end they all got prizes based on their score.

We gave out Tsum Tsum bracelets, goody bags, little Tsum Tsum figures and Tsum Tsum balloons. Kristen wanted chocolate covered strawberries, one of her favorites, so we brought out the chocolate melter thingy and had marshmallows and sugar wafers to dip too. I finally entered into adulthood and purchased a punch bowl, thanks to Goodwill. I made punch for the first time. She wanted pigs in a blanket and we had chips and dip and cupcakes. And lots of Tsum Tsum decorations. She was finally able to have her party this past weekend after being postponed for sickness.

She had lots of fun and received lots of great presents. She has told me thank you a million times. I love this girl and all her awesomeness.
