Just Staying In
We haven't done much of anything over these past few weeks because of Kristen's eczema. I had just told Paul that I thought her eczema was getting better and two days later it was the worst I had seen it. She had it from her neck to the tops of her feet! I still don't know if it was eczema or allegies because the dermatologist can't see us until August. Really? Then when I asked if I could see another doctor in the practice I was informed that the doctors do not share patients, but I was more that welcome to call everyday to see if there was a cancelation. Yeah, because that's what I want to spend my days doing. Then I asked if I could get a refill of her prescription and was told not until I see the doctor. So, we will NOT be going back there. I did have success and getting whatever it was to go away. Not sure what actually worked. I think it might have been the $12 a bottle Neosporin Eczema cream. I was also giving her Claratin (we won't even discuss the price of that...and it was generic and still expensive). But as long as she is better I don't really care what worked just that it worked. Money well spent...somewhere.
Since the girls have been staying in we have been doing other things. One thing they got to do and were so excited about was putting on play makeup. Which, by the way, is worse than regular makeup because it is so greesy and hard to get off. You just basically smear it from on part of their face to the other. Luckily it was bath day, but I really should have done it when it was bathroom cleaning day because makeup was everywhere! And fingernail polish, which I had no idea Kristen got out. Atleast everything in the bathroom was a hard surface and I was smart enough to take my rugs out beforehand, so it really wasn't all that bad to clean up. Kristen's fingernails and toenails looked pretty good. Lauren had tried to paint hers and it ended up on her legs and in her hair. I would say she got a little confused as to what to do with it, but I am pretty sure she knew she just had more fun putting it in her hair and making designs on her legs. The makeup also ended up on her arms and legs and feet. Kristen was very particular and wanted to know where each section of makeup was supposed to go. The problem is, they all looked the same just a different color and shape so I had no idea what each was supposed to be. I didn't know what was supposed to be lipstick, eyeshadow or blush or even if they were supposed to be different things. Anyways, here are some pictures. The good thing is, they basically used all of the makeup because it was caked on, so we were able to throw the remaining away.
The girls were able to go out for a little bit and look at the turtle that has taken up residence under Paul's shed. That was a very exciting event and the girls fell in love with the little turtle who refused to come out of his shell. It was a very smart turtle. Somedays I wish I had a shell I could climb into.
